During my second to last semester of college I took a class entitled, “Scientific Writing for Environmental, Agricultural, and Life Sciences” (ENVS 408). There were a variety of assignments throughout the semester that culminated in a final project, namely, a miniature literature review. Literature reviews provide a summary of the state of knowledge on a given subject. A mini review is not as extensive as a standard one and examines fewer publications, but nevertheless may still be useful. Our class was free to research any topic of our choice. I focused on the problem of livestock depredation by big cats, mainly because human-wildlife conflicts are one of my primary research interests. The paper is attached below.
